  • Overview


    Provide Engineering support to the NORAD Cheyenne Mountain Complex (NCMC) program office, which is within the Strategic Warning & Surveillance Systems (SW&SS) Division, located at Peterson AFB, CO.





    • Bachelor’s Degree in related engineering discipline and a minimum of 15 years work experience, with experience on DoD or Air Force acquisition programs desirable.
    • Experience with Combatant Commanders Integrated Command and Control System (CCIC2S) system, subsystems, message traffic, and related data is highly desirable.

    • Experience/knowledge of Legacy Space Systems and/or space operations experience is a plus.

    • Previous experience in a Dept. of Defense setting is desired.
    • Must have an active US security clearance.


    • Serve as subject matter expert (SME) in the application of systems engineering principles supporting the sustainment and modernization of the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) Cheyenne Mountain Complex (NCMC) – Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Legacy Space Systems.

    • Perform systems engineering technical planning activities to ensure systems engineering processes are applied properly throughout the system's life cycle. Validates compliance with established processes.
    • Develop/review technical guidance, technical artifacts, and recommendations for NCMC legacy engineering and integration processes; analyzing/assessing dependencies, and compliance with standards for engineering, system interfaces, test, and technology insertion.
    • Provide support for and participate in (a) studies and analyses, (b) review and evaluation of technical specifications/documentation, designs, analyses, and test processes/plans/procedures/results, and (c) development and review of Statements of Work and subsequent contractor proposals.
    • Provide technical expertise to counsel the Program Office on hardware/software development performance, metrics of progress and performance, compliance, verification of processes and configuration management.
    • Supports Government efforts to ensure delivered capabilities are integrated in a manner which support operational and technical requirements and scheduled deliveries.
    • Attend requirements, design reviews, and technical interchange meetings with prime contractors providing technical evaluations of analyses and tradeoff activities, assessments of contractor technical efforts, and recommendations to the Program Office.
    • Organize/develop content for project engineering milestones (e.g., Engineering Review Panel) to ensure community understanding; requirements, level of test required, and the level of effort to perform the project.
