We are looking for a motivated Systems Administrator to support the Global Command and Control System Air Force (GCCS-AF) Team at Hanscom AFB, MA.


  • Manages Active Directory domains with Windows server 2008 domain controllers, servers, and workstations.
  • Responsible for the management of domain group policies, DNS, Exchange, Host Based Security
  • System (HBSS), Assured Compliance Assessment System (ACAS), and local network components.
  • Provides support for integration engineers responsible for building, testing and publishing computer operating system and software updates to Air Force units world-wide.






  • Expertise with Windows Server OS 2008 or later as a System Administrator including user management, DNS, LDAP/AD and NTP.
  • Expertise with HBSS, ACAS, and SCCM.

  • Expertise with troubleshooting and problem analysis.

  • Expertise with the Solaris 10 Operating System as a System Administrator.

  • Knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) OS

  • Familiarity with backup and restore procedures for both a Windows and Solaris environment.

  • Familiarity with TCP/IP networking.

  • Familiarity with shell script writing.

  • Familiarity with Virtualization technologies

  • Familiarity with MS Office Tools (including Visio).

  • CompTIA Security+ certification (required within 6 months of hire).

  • Experience in relational database configuration/administration (ORACLE, SYBASE).

  • Fluency in C-shell, Bourne shell, VB Script, and/or PERL scripting.

  • Experience with the creation of Technical Documentation

  • Candidate must have an active Secret clearance



  • Develop, configure and maintain systems infrastructure.
  • Research, recommend and document innovative approaches for System Administration tasks.

  • Provide and document troubleshooting and analysis that leads to problem resolution and adds to our repository of knowledge.

  • Create, change, and delete user accounts, assist with user requests for SIPR accounts

  • Develop and document server room layout and modification in preparation for new hardware installs, upgrades or consolidations.

  • Develop and implement performance reporting and planning procedures for equipment, power and HVAC (i.e., capacity planning).

  • Develop procedures and scripts to automate recurring actions.

  • Perform verification and validation of System Administration tasks.

  • Continually maintain security certification in accordance with DoD/AF instructions.

  • Apply applicable security measures in the performance of all duties.

  • Responds to emergency situations utilizing appropriate official shutdown procedures and follow-on power-up/activation procedures.
