    MAR Division of Oasis Systems has an exciting opportunity for a qualified Calibration Technician to provide calibration services for all Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) used for quantitative measurements at the Metrology and Standards Laboratory at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport (NUWCDIVNPT) in Newport, Rhode Island. The laboratory is responsible for calibration and repair of this TMDE.

     

    LOCATION: Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport (NUWCDIVNPT) in Newport, Rhode Island

    EXPERIENCE LEVEL: At least five years calibration services which includes Metrology training.

    EDUCATION: Metrology training in the Mechanical and/or Electronic areas of measurement which is equivalent to that provided by Keesler Technical Training Center, Keesler AFB, MS. Three years of documented On-The-Job Training (OJT) may be substituted for the Technical School Calibration Training.

    SECURITY CLEARANCE: DoD – Secret Clearance

    JOB STATUS: Full-Time

    RESPONSIBILITIESFunctionally, the candidate will be required to calibrate and repair instrumentation in the following fields:

    7. Inductance
    8. Capacitance
    9. Resistance
    10. Phase
    11. Surface Finish
    12. Angular and Dimensional
    13. Acceleration
    14. Vibration
    15. Torque
    16. Force
    17. Pressure
    18. Vacuum
    19. Hardness
    20. Mass
    21. Magnetics
    22. Density
    23. Humidity
    24. Temperature

     

    QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must meet the following minimum qualifications:

    • The Technician must have Metrology training in the Mechanical and/or Electronic areas of measurement which is equivalent to that provided by Keesler Technical Training Center, Keesler AFB, MS. Three years of documented On-The-Job Training (OJT) may be substituted for the Technical School Calibration Training.
    • The technicians must have at least five years to eight years of related work experience.
    • The technicians must also have the ability to lift heavy weight up to 50 lbs.
