Provide Engineering support to the Ground-Based Electro-Optical Deep Space Surveillance (GEODSS) system program office, which is within the Battle Management Directorate (AFLCMC/HB) located at Peterson AFB, CO.






  • Bachelor’s Degree in related engineering discipline and a minimum of 5 years work experience.
  • Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.0 - 7.X (GEODSS SLEP II is using RHEL 7.2) Experience and understanding of Cyber Security as it relates to legacy and new systems.
  • Current COMPTIA Security + CE certification is required.

  • Software background: Understand the entire software delivery process. (GEODSS projects are using Microservices to develop software).

  • Experience with Operating Systems Windows 7 and 10 and Microsoft Server Operating Systems 2008 - 2016 Experience with enterprise databases such Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server and Postgres Experience and thorough understanding of Virtualization such VMware 6.0 and higher. (This is must since GEODSS SLEP II is virtualization dependent).

  • Understanding of Java or Object Oriented languages such as C/C++ Understanding of system architectures and data flows.

  • Scripting skills such as Perl and Python Automation tools such Puppet or Chef. (GEODSS SLEP II uses Puppet)

  • Infrastructure experience with HP Servers, Juniper and Cisco networking equipment.

  • Work experience as a technical liaison between Government and contractor.

  • Work in a diverse team environment and as an individual.

  • Must have an active US security clearance.




  • Conduct reviews on program portfolio to evaluate and/or recommend alternative plans, improve systems engineering programs/processes, manage/sustain program technical baseline, and design/perform system level tests to assure that subsystems and system performance is achieved in accordance with approved specifications.
  • Perform program reviews to evaluate alternative proposed plans, systems engineering programs, design and test results to assure that subsystem and system performance is achieved in accordance with program specifications.
  • Prepare technical documents which define, specify, and recommend system/subsystem characteristics.
  • Perform validation of systems, including development of criteria and procedures. Analyze and/or evaluate results of major engineering systems.
  • Provide engineering support services and inputs to program and project risk management activities in compliance with AF SEAM processes.
  • Write Statement of Works (SOW) and technical volume and technical approaches for new work that will be given to the contractor.
