Overview

MAR Division of Oasis Systems has an exciting opportunity for the Able Bodied Seaman to operate and maintain the U.S. Army Vessel (USAV) WORTHY.

LOCATION: Kwajalein, Marshall Islands

EXPERIENCE LEVEL: N/A

EDUCATION: Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent. 

CERTIFICATIONS AND TOOLS: Valid USCG Merchant Mariner, Credentials (AB license), TWIC card, and Licenses/Certifications: AB rating.

SECURITY CLEARANCE: Ability to pass a Federal background check to obtain and hold a DoD Common Access Card (CAC). Ability to pass a post offer drug screen and physical/medical clearance.

JOB STATUS: Full-Time - This position is contingent upon proposal award.  

TRAVEL: N/A

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: Functionally, the successful candidate will:

Stand watch to look for obstructions in path of vessel, measure water depth, turn wheel on bridge, or use emergency equipment as directed by captain, mate, or pilot. Break out, rig, overhaul, and store cargohandling gear, stationary rigging, and running gear. Perform a variety of maintenance tasks to preserve the painted surface of the ship and to maintain line and ship equipment. Must hold governmentissued certification and tankerman certification when working aboard liquidcarrying vessels. 
 

QUALIFICATIONS: This candidate must have experience with the following:

  • Valid USCG Merchant Mariner
  • Credentials (AB license);
  • TWIC card; valid passport;
  • Ability to work well with others, selfstarter, proactive, must be flexible with work schedule (willing to travel on short notice), stability under pressure, ability to work in unpredictable weather extremes.
  • Licenses/Certifications: AB rating
  • Ability to pass a Federal background check to obtain and hold a DoD Common Access Card (CAC).
  • Ability to pass a post offer drug screen and physical/medical clearance.
