LOCATION: National Business Parkway, MD
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE LEVEL:
Seven (7) years experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity within the Federal Government is required. Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.

JOB STATUS: Full-Time
Establish and maintains network performance by building configurations and connections and troubleshooting network problems. Maximize network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades, collaborating with team engineers on network optimization. Secure network system by establishing and enforcing policies, defining and monitoring access. Report network operational status by gathering, prioritizing information and providing contextual feedback. Possess network security acumen; to include setting up access control lists (ACL) for firewalls and monitoring intrusion detection systems (IDS) for potential security breaches. Ensure high availability and automatic failover capabilities are monitored and operational. Maintain overall responsibility for the configuration of routers, switches and firewalls. Candidate may be required to respond to after-hours requests as required in a 24x7 environment. The following skills are a plus; familiar with Cisco network equipment, F5 Load Balancers, DNS, DHCP and IP Address Management, Forcepoint Firewalls, and Amazon Web Services (AWS) networking.
