Overview

Oasis Systems has an exciting opportunity for an Able Bodied Seaman to work full time aboard USAV Worthy at Kwajalein, Marshall Islands.  

LOCATION: Kwajalein, Marshall Islands
JOB STATUS: Full-Time / Non-Rotational 
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Certifications, Experience, Skills)

SECURITY CLEARANCE: Ability to pass a Federal background check to obtain and hold a DoD Common Access Card (CAC). Ability to pass a post offer drug screen and physical/medical clearance. 
EDUCATION: Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent. 
CERTIFICATIONS AND TOOLS: Valid USCG Merchant Mariner, Credentials (AB license), TWIC card, and Licenses/Certifications: AB rating.
EXPERIENCE LEVEL: N/A

RESPONSIBILITIES: Functionally, the successful candidate will:

  • The seaman must hold USCG Mariner Certification as an Able Seaman and be able to be cleared for access to Department of Defense facilities.
  • An Able Seaman stands watch as helmsman and lookout, stands security-related watches, performs general maintenance, repair, sanitation, and upkeep of material, equipment, and areas in the deck department.
  • Maintains lifeboats, rescue boats, and emergency and damage control gear.
  • Must be familiar with lifting and deploying equipment from and to the deck using winches, cranes, A-frames, and other lifting devices.
