Oasis Systems has an exciting opportunity for a full time Software Development Manager to support operations and testing of Unmanned Surface Vessels (USV).  This project team develops and operates cutting-edge robotic ships for the US Navy in San Diego, CA.


TRAVEL: Some travel may be required


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: (Education, Certifications, Experience, Skills)

This candidate must have experience with the following:

SECURITY CLEARANCE: Must be eligible for a Secret clearance.

EDUCATION: BS Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or similar field.

CERTIFICATIONS AND TOOLS: Not required but Linux, VMWare, Docker, Kubernetes certificates or training completion is preferred
Minimum of 3 years (5 years desired) of experience as a software developer or software baseline manager. Agile development methodology experience is a must to manage disparate entities contributing software segments.




  • Three years experience developing software
  • Shell scripting (bash and powershell) experience
  • Experience running and deploying virtual machines. Kubernetes and Containers experience is a plus.  VMWare and VSAN experience is a plus.
  • Experience with LINUX (certification is a plus)
  • Ability to edit and update source code and documentation in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to perform engineering duties at-sea.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
  • Experience with managing a software baseline with several software segments complied into the deployed image as developed by separate input entities.
  • Experience maintaining and operating servers.
  • Experience developing and compiling source code and installable images.
  • Experience with C++, PYTHON, Linux Shell Script, Docker, Kubernetes, VMWare
  • Will consider candidates with significant experience in leu of B.S. degree   

RESPONSIBILITIES: Functionally, the successful candidate will:

  • Manage a complex software baseline over numerous maturity improvement efforts on Navy Unmanned Surface Vessels.
  • Manage the collection of software segments from disparate source and compile the source code into installable images via the systems integration laboratory. Test the image prior to deployment to the ships.
  • Install, update and deploy software on LINUX-based systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve operations issues with the software. Update images as necessary.
  • Assist with at-sea testing of software on military vessels.
  • Administer systems and user accounts. 

 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: At-sea testing may sometimes require extended-hours work weeks. Overtime and/or compensatory time is authorized for extended working hours.
